CRduo present their first studio recording: Piazzolla Centenario! We did a fine selection of very emotional tangos and our arrangements are not only made-to-measure for our personal way of playing the violin and the guitar but also exploit every technical possibility on those instruments, getting captivating timbres and musical textures out of them.
The guitarist Carlos Alberto Castro began to conceive the concept of CRduo and to create these 10 arrangements in August 2019. He dedicated 18 months and hundreds of hours of hard work until getting to this musical result. The violinist André Robles Field edited the violin part and discussed together with Castro every aspect of the phrasing, fingerings and the interpretation. Robles developed his very own fingerings in order to represent the right emotion for each passage.
This project includes not only music but also an important visual aspect: we commissioned an Argentinian visual artist to create one illustration for each work in this recording. We are also producing a special audiobook as an extended album liner notes. Besides that, we already recorded a couple of appealing videos to showcase our performance in an attractive way.
After investing hundreds of hours and thousands of euros, we are looking for your help for the last step of the CD production: the physical manufacturing of 1000 CDs and their licensing royalties. But the most valuable thing for us is your support to promote this album and tell others about it, especially people who like tango or Latin American music. If we are able to collect more funds than our goal, you will also contribute for the expenses regarding recording, travelling, photography and graphic design.
We are aiming to bring this music to as many stages as possible and share unforgettable moments with many other people! This is our first duo concert programme but we are already looking forward to working on our next repertoire, so we want to keep you informed about our future projects.
The digital rewards will be sent as soon as possible as well as the physical products, which we hopefully get and ship before the end of the year.
